Garden Shed
One of the things I want more than anything else this summer for my garden is a shed. I found the shed above (click for a full view) that I really would like to have in my back yard. I have a small back yard, but to me, this would be an ultimate edition to my yard. It doubles as a greenhouse and I can use it for all of my many garden tools. The shed can be found at Lowe’s for approximately $3445. I guess I better start saving my pennies!!!!

This spring I have a lot of projects going on. I’ve already finished my mailbox project. The next project I am working on is my border around my herb garden. I am trying to keep the weeds from growing around my herb garden so I plan to put a small border around it. In order to get most of the things done that I would like to, I seemed to have developed a nice sized shopping list. Being the compulsive list writer that I am, it would be unnatural for me to not have a spring “to buy” list. So… here’s my spring wish list. Not sure if I plan to get everything, but if I could get what I wanted for the spring this would be it:
It’s that time of year again where I list all the cool things I want for my garden. This year is going to be especially cool because I am getting my deck built, which will add so much more space for my plants. So without further delay, here’s my list for this year:
This weekend was very productive. On Saturday I went to Lowes and bought a beautiful calla lily and a jasmine vine for my trellis. I also went to Ace hardware and talked to the horticulturist there about which plants I should use to landscape my mailbox. I also asked him for advise for my gerber daisies, which haven’t been growing as well as I thought they would. For the mailbox project I have decided to use the calla lily or canna, agave and succulents along with decorative rocks. Never really worked with succulents, but they seem to be pretty cool, drought resistant and I have been seeing them in the latest gardening magazines. I would like to start this project next week. His suggestion for my gerber daisies, manure and loosening the soil around it by mixing it with potting soil. Georgia has a lot of red clay and it is apparently hard for plant roots to permeate the hard soil. So this week, of course I spent too much money. I bought mushroom compost, a glazed pot, a decorative dragonfly (I seem to be building a collection), A coleus plant, a jasmine vine for my trellis, 2 succulents, white marigolds for my moon garden, and some really pretty sunflower seeds.
