Top 20 Things I Love About Spring
Now that I am officially out of hibernation, I can’t help but write about the many things I love about spring! Something about spring makes me feel truly renewed and energized. Although my allergies have officially kicked in yesterday and my sinuses are currently out of order until further notice, there are many things I love about spring. Let me share my top 20s:
- No Snow!
- Daylight Savings Time Begins! Longer Days and More Sunshine! No more coming home at 4:30 pm and its already dark outside.
- Gardening, Gardening, Gardening! Especially being able to start anew with new seeds and checking out the new gardening stuff at the gardening centers and farmer’s markets.
- The sound of birds serenading me in the morning.
- Lounging around the house in my PJs during a thunderstorm. Rain used to depress me, but I love to curl up and read a good book when its raining outside.
- Easter. I love Jesus!!!!!!
- The emergence of fresh new spring flowers.
- Long drives with the windows down and the top down (or sun roof open).
- The smell of the first grass cutting (even if it makes me sneeze).
- Cherry Blossoms and Apple Blossoms – I love the trees and the festivals that honor them.
- The Color Green – Whether its the new sprout of green grass in the lawn, limelight hydrangeas or the spring cleaning multi-purpose spray, I love the color of lime green!
- Spring Cleaning – I love purging my house of all the things I have kept during the winter and giving my home a thorough cleansing.
- No bugs – I love that the weather is still cool to a point where you can go outside and enjoy it without the gnats and mosquitos.
- Focus – With the turn of the weather, I start to focus on what I want to do for the summer when the weather is warmer.
- Turning off the heat and closing down the fireplace for the year. Being able to open the windows in the house and in the car.
- Graduations, proms and other end of the school year events.
- Memorial Day Weekend and Cookouts.
- The great outdoors. Whether its taking a walk or having a glass of lemonade outside, I love the outdoors.
- Switching over from winter clothes to summer clothes -Bye bye itchy sweaters and stuffy boots and hello light floral sundresses with open toed shoes and pedicures.
- Yard Sales.
Happy Spring!!!!
